Catholic Life At St Peter’s Primary School
We are a family at St Peter’s and together we nurture and value our friendly and supportive ethos within the school. The school seeks to foster and encourage a Christian atmosphere and promote the Catholic Faith and a love of God. Our children are encouraged to live out their faith in everything they do.
We believe that we are a family who share the values needed to make us well rounded people who show kindness and compassion. We draw on God’s strength to guide us through our school days and we celebrate our successes. We regularly enhance our Christian lives by working together on a common goal, sometimes in groups, sometimes in classes and sometimes as a whole school. Many of these events follow the liturgical year, but others are motivated by special occasions organised within our Diocese or Catholic Multi Academy Trust (CMAT). We also encourage our children to think about people less fortunate than ourselves and we respond to world events.
“Pupils and staff understand and live the distinctive Catholic identity of their school. Pupils are happy,
confident, and secure. They know that God loves them. Pupils follow the example of Jesus and participate
with enthusiasm in opportunities to grow in their faith. They support those less fortunate than themselves.”

Living Laudato Si Award
We are delighted to announce that our school has been awarded the “Living Laudato Si’” Award, for the second time, in recognition of our commitment to caring for creation and protecting our common home.
This award celebrates the dedication and hard work of our wonderful ECO Team, who have worked tirelessly to promote sustainability, raise awareness, and take practical action to make our school a greener and more eco-friendly place.
Inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’, our pupils and staff have been working together to:
Reduce waste and improve recycling across the school
Promote energy-saving initiatives
Develop wildlife-friendly areas in our school grounds
Encourage sustainable travel and healthy living choices
The award reflects the passion and teamwork of our pupils, who have been true champions of environmental stewardship. Their creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment remind us all that even the smallest actions can make a big difference.
We are incredibly proud of our ECO Team and of the whole school community for supporting this important mission. This achievement is not the end of our journey, but a stepping stone towards even greater care for God’s creation.

Charitable Work By Our Pupils
Our children at St. Peter’s are committed to carrying out charitable acts that benefit the wider community. Many of these are instigated by the children themselves and are carried out by them during their own time outside of school. So far this academic year we have seen children giving food to Hinkley foodbank and raising money for organised charities through sponsorship and taking part in organised events like fun runs. Many of our families also contributed to the “shoebox,” appeal.
