Year 3 Curriculum

Take a look at the Long Term Plans to find out what we will be learning this year:

Year 3 Curriculum Overview

At St. Peter’s we use White Rose Maths for our maths curriculum.

“Together, we’re building a whole new culture of deep understanding, confidence and competence in maths – a culture that produces strong, secure learning and real progress. No matter what their starting points, we help teachers and learners everywhere to achieve excellence.”

This is the R.E overview for year 3. Please familiarise yourself with what we will be learning…

At St. Peter’s we use Talk for Writing. The Talk for Writing approach enables children to read and write independently for a variety of audiences and purposes within different subjects. A key feature is that children internalise the language structures needed to write through ‘talking the text’ as well as close reading. The approach moves from dependence towards independence with the teacher using shared and guided teaching to develop the ability in children to write creatively and powerfully.

Schools underpin their English work by establishing a core reading spine of quality fiction, poetry and non-fiction that all children experience and draw upon.
